WISMItel H is a combination medicine containing Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). Controlling blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This combination offers a dual approach to effectively lower and maintain blood pressure levels.Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily, thereby reducing pressure within the arteries. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps the body get rid of excess salt and water through urine, which also helps lower blood pressure.
Together, these two components work synergistically: while Telmisartan targets the root cause of narrowing blood vessels, Hydrochlorothiazide enhances the blood pressure-lowering effect by reducing fluid buildup in the body.
WISMItel H is usually prescribed when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either medicine alone. It is taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day. Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well.
