SANGloxy Clav 625 is a powerful combination antibiotic containing Amoxicillin (500mg) and Clavulanic Acid (125mg). It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections affecting the ear, sinuses, throat, lungs (such as bronchitis or pneumonia), urinary tract, skin, soft tissues, teeth, joints, and bones.Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. However, some bacteria become resistant to amoxicillin by producing an enzyme called beta-lactamase. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks this enzyme, restoring the effectiveness of amoxicillin against resistant bacteria. This combination provides a broader spectrum of antibacterial action and is more effective than amoxicillin alone.
SANGloxy Clav 625 is generally well-tolerated and begins to improve symptoms within a few days of use. However, it is crucial to complete the full prescribed course, even if you start feeling better, to ensure the infection is fully cleared and to prevent antibiotic resistance.
