OPIAdine contains Olopatadine Hydrochloride 0.1% w/v, an ophthalmic antihistamine formulation used for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis and other eye allergies. Olopatadine works by selectively blocking histamine H1 receptors and inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells, a chemical responsible for allergic reactions such as itching, redness, watering, and burning in the eyes.This eye drop is specifically designed to relieve the discomfort caused by seasonal or perennial allergic conjunctivitis, often triggered by pollen, dust, pet dander, or environmental irritants. By targeting both early-phase allergic responses and late-phase inflammatory reactions, Olopatadine offers rapid and sustained relief from allergy-induced eye symptoms.
OPIAdine provides fast-acting relief and is usually well tolerated, making it suitable for daily use under medical supervision. The formulation is non-sedating and does not affect visual clarity when used correctly. It is recommended to instill the drops in the affected eye(s) as prescribed, typically once or twice a day.
Patients should avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination and wait at least 5–10 minutes before using other eye medications. Contact lenses should be removed before application and reinserted after 10–15 minutes. Regular use as directed helps maintain clear, comfortable, and allergy-free eyes.
