Jephux-CV is a combination antibiotic medication used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, especially those affecting the respiratory tract such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil (100 mg) and Clavulanic Acid (62.5 mg), which work synergistically to fight infections caused by harmful bacteria.Cefpodoxime Proxetil is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial cell wall, thereby killing the bacteria. However, some bacteria produce enzymes (beta-lactamases) that make them resistant to antibiotics like Cefpodoxime. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks these enzymes, thereby restoring and enhancing the effectiveness of Cefpodoxime.
This dual action makes Jephux-CV highly effective in treating respiratory infections that are difficult to manage with a single antibiotic. It usually starts showing improvement within a few days of use. However, for best results and to prevent antibiotic resistance, it is important to complete the full course as prescribed by your doctor—even if symptoms improve earlier.
